Two of Pentacles
General
The Two of Pentacles is about balance, but some times could mean juggling too many commitments. This could also mean that one does not have enough time to devote to one single thing, especially when there are plenty of other commitments and responsibilities to tend to. In traditional tarot, the Two of Pentacles is depicted by a man juggling two pentacles. In the background, there are ships riding giant waves, which to me symbolises difficult times to navigate. And yet, despite the difficulty, the juggler is not fazed by it, neither are the ships.
Upright
In the upright position, the Two of Pentacles talks about treading a fine line between chaos and calm, and it is about balance. The Moonology oracle’s “Balance spirituality and practicality” come to mind and the Two of Pentacles is about needing to balance two conflicting sides or two different parts of yourself — spiritual and material. This is done so with much hard work. In love, this card could represent a need to balance personal (one’s love life being one of them) and professional lives, or personal space and family time. This is about learning to find balance between lovers in a relationship. In career and finances, this card represents juggling commitments and projects. This could also mean having unstable finances and a hectic schedule.
Reversed
In the reversed position, the Two of Pentacles mean a loss of balance. All the responsibilities that you have been trying to juggle is now coming back to bite you in the butt, and this card indicates that the querent is juggling too much and has lost their balance and is about to fall. In love, this card can symbolise not having enough time for the other person, and neglecting the relationship. This may cause the deterioration of the relationship. This card could also mean that the querent or their love interest is too busy to make time for love. A more heartbreaking interpretation of the Two of Pentacles is that one or both partners are cheating in the relationship. The idea balancing or juggling can mean juggling lovers. In career and finances, this card indicates that the querent is burned out and has too much on their plate. They might be drowning in work or be in debt.
