Six of Pentacles

General

The Six of Pentacles is about charity. This could mean that someone is offering you help or financial aid, and sometimes can be taken to mean that someone takes pity on you. This card is also about balance, and about giving and taking. To me, the phrase "what goes around, comes around" is the essence of the card. In traditional tarot, the Six of Pentacles depicts a man holding a scale (much like what is seen in the Justice card), and giving money to two beggars who are kneeling at his feet. This shows that this man is in a good position to offer charity to others.

Upright

In the upright position, the Six of Pentacles is a card of stability and being able to give. This is also a card about charity and receiving kindness and help (material or otherwise) from others, and this is a huge shift from the Five of Pentacles before where it was characterised by selfishness and isolation. In love, this card talks about supportive relationships and being generous in love. Both parties are open to giving and taking in love and bringing balance to the relationship. In career and finances, this talks about help being given and received in the context of the work place and financial help being given and received. This could also mean that donations are being made (or received).

Reversed

In the reversed position, this could suggest that the money that goes out does not come back around or could talk about debts and not being financially stable (or that you need to be more careful about who you loan your money to). In love, I see this card as a card of pity i.e. staying with a partner out of pity for them and not truly wanting to be with them. This card also suggests that there is an unfair power dynamic and someone in the relationship may be taking advantage of the other. In career and finances, this could talk about quid pro quo relationships and hidden agendas behind the help given. This could also talk about people turning away from you instead of helping you (both in your career/studies and finances).
